Retailer Success Story: Shiny Objects Introduces Ocean Joy with an In-store Event

SANIBEL, FLORIDA 2026

A successful in-store launch highlights the growing impact of Ocean Joy at retail level.

Launched this year, Ocean JOY is Ocean Jewelry®’s new beads and charms collection, designed to encourage personal expression through meaningful, collectible pieces inspired by the beauty of the coast and Ocean lifestyle.

For Rachel Emerick, owner of Shiny Objects, bringing Ocean Joy into her store was a decision built on trust.

Having carried Ocean Jewelry for several years, she already had “complete confidence in the research, development, and quality behind Ocean’s products.” While introducing a new category was something she approached thoughtfully, her experience with the brand made the decision feel like a natural next step.

To launch the collection, Shiny Objects hosted an in-store event, creating an opportunity to introduce Ocean Joy in a more personal and interactive way.

Customers responded very positively to the collection from the beginning. Many were drawn to the intricacy and thoughtful detail of the beads and charms, while the ability to create personalised pieces made the experience feel meaningful and engaging.

What I enjoy most is seeing customers bring their own creations to life”, Rachel shared. “There is something especially meaningful about offering a collection that feels both personal and interactive.”

The collection’s coastal inspiration resonated strongly with the store’s environment and clientele. From shell motifs to vibrant Ocean tones, the designs reflected the natural beauty and spirit of Sanibel while giving customers the opportunity to create a custom keepsake of their time there.

Presentation also played an important role in the success of the launch. The Ocean Joy display created a strong visual presence in the store, helping the collection stand apart while remaining polished, inviting, and easy to shop. Positioned prominently in the front of the store, it encouraged customers to stop, explore, and interact with the collection at their own pace.

The event itself brought excitement and energy into the store, attracting both existing customers and new visitors. Rachel noted that many customers especially enjoyed the process of building their own bracelets, turning the experience into something memorable rather than simply transactional.

For Shiny Objects, the success of Ocean Joy is tied not only to the product itself, but also to the partnership behind it.

Hurricane Ian marked a period of rebirth for Sanibel, and for Shiny Objects as well. We chose to move forward with the Ocean Line because of its quality, strong customer appeal, and exceptional marketing support. From the very beginning, we felt the collection reflected the natural beauty and spirit of Sanibel. Bringing in Ocean Jewelry was one of the best decisions I have made in more than 20 years in retail.
